Rep. Lewis has filed the following bill to address public safety issues:
An Act to Protect Persons from Bodily Harm by Consent: This bill codifies in statute important provisions that have existed in case law for a number of years. It prohibits any individual from consenting to serious physical harm, except in cases where rules and regulations exist, such as contact sports. This bill will provide further protection for individuals from abusive relationships.
