Rep. Lewis has filed the following bill to address ethical issues:
An Act to Require Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest in Academic Institutions: This bill requires that colleges and universities implement conflict of interest and disclosure policies concerning financial relationships between faculty/staff and outside entities. Many academics have a significant impact on public policy decisions and the public has a right to know when economists, business professors, medical school professors, and others have financial relationships with businesses and other entities that could exert influence on their behavior.
