Rep. Lewis has filed the following bills to address animal rights issues:
An Act to Prevent Farm Animal Cruelty: It is time for Massachusetts to take a stand against the extreme and cruel confinement of farm animals, and to level the playing field for humane, sustainable farming practices in the Commonwealth. This bill prohibits the extreme confinement of veal calves, pregnant sows and egg-laying hens, practices which are unfortunately widely used today by factory farms.
